Dr O Tuathail trained at the National University of Ireland, Galway. He qualified in 2011 and subsequently undertook Specialist medical training in Dublin and became a member of the Royal College of Physicians in 2014 (MRCPI). He subsequently undertook General Practice Training in Dublin and became a member of the Irish College of General Practitioners in 2018 (MICGP).
Dr O Tuathail is also a member of the Faculty of Sports and Exercise Medicine (MFSEM) and has undertaken a Diploma in joint injections.
Dr O ‘Tuathail is a keen Scuba Diver and as a Current Divemaster and UKDMC (UK Diving Medical Committee) approved Medical Assessor of Scuba Divers, undertakes Diving Medicals for recreational divers at IMC.
Dr O Tuathail enjoys all aspects of General Practice but has a special interest in Dermatology having undertaken additional training in Dermatology. He is a British association of Dermatology certified GP with an extended role in Dermatology. He has undertaken both a Diploma and a Masters in Dermatology. He is a member of the British Association of Dermatologists and the Primary Care Dermatology Society (UK and Ireland). Dr O Tuathail also works in the Dermatology Department at Jersey General Hospital. He has a weekly minor surgery list at IMC where he removes skin lesions , including skin cancers, lumps, and bumps.
He has undertaken additional training in Dive Medicine and is a UKDMC (UK Diving Medical Committee) and DMAC (Diving Medical Advisory Committee) approved Medical Assessor of Scuba Divers and Dive Physician, qualified in the medical management of diving accidents and illnesses (DMAC levels 1 and 2).
Dr O Tuathail has also undertaken training in medical law and geriatrics and undertakes complex testamentary capacity assessments at IMC.
Dr O Tuathail also has an interest in Mental Health, having undertaken a Masters in Mental Health, a Diploma in Psychiatry and a Certificate in Substance Addiction.
Dr O Tuathail has completed a level 7 Diploma (masters equivalent) in Clinical Aesthetic Injectable treatments with a focus on the medical use of botulinum toxin and the treatment of aesthetic complications.
He has undertaken extensive postgraduate training obtaining postgraduate diplomas in:

• Paediatrics (DCH)
• Dermatology (DPD)
• Psychiatry (DCP)
